Our Facilities
Main Facilities & Grounds (Kendalia)
The main Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR)
sanctuary and rehabilitation facilities are located on 187 wooded acres in Kendalia in the Texas Hill Country,
50 miles from both San Antonio and Austin. There are six ponds,
two creeks, and the Little Blanco River on the property. The
topography of the land is diverse, and specific areas were
chosen as ideal sites for the animals' enclosures. The grounds also include a 5,000-square-foot Clinic & Rehabilitation Nursery, 3,000-square-foot Nutrition Center, administration offices, maintenance buildings, barns, and other structures.
Because of our commitment to respect for the
rights and needs of wildlife, the main WRR facilities and grounds are not open to the public.
Roger & Phyllis Sherman Animal Care Complex (San Antonio)
WRR opened its Roger & Phyllis Sherman Animal Care Complex in San Antonio, Texas, in early January 2010. The property, which was funded by the Sherman Foundation, serves as a drop-off point for injured and orphaned wildlife, a temporary rehabilitation center for certain species of orphaned mammals and birds, a small rescue and adoption site for cats, and an education center.
The Squirrel's Nest Resale Shop (Boerne)
The Squirrel's Nest, WRR's resale shop in Boerne, Texas, helps WRR carry out its mission
of rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife. All proceeds are
immediately put to use for animal care needs at the sanctuary.
