Welcome to Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation!
Jaguars at WRR
Wildlife Rescue was founded in 1977 in San Antonio, Texas. Since Spring 2004, WRR has been located at a new 187-acre facility near Kendalia, Texas which was purchased through the generosity of a supporter. WRR serves the cities of San Antonio, Austin, and all surrounding counties, and occasionally the rest of the State as well. WRR also provides assistance on a national basis to wild animals in need of sanctuary.
We provide a permanent home for a variety of mammals (e.g., wolves, bears, big cats, and primates) and non-indigenous birds and reptiles. Each year over 5,000 animals are brought to WRR; the majority of these are rehabilitated and released or given permanent sanctuary.

Companion Animals

WRR does not have the resources to take in companion animals from the general public. Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation's mission focuses on wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. However, WRR occasionally works with special needs companion animals from extreme circumstances. If you, or someone you know, needs to surrender a companion animal, please contact your local no-kill shelter or rescue.
