January 2007
The new year came in ferociously with an un-Texas-like
ice storm. Thankfully, WRR and the animals weathered the storm
and came out the other side with only minor problems. The
animals have been adjusting to the winter temperatures —
enjoying their beautiful natural enclosures during the sunny
days and the coziness of heated houses and thick beds of hay
during the cold nights. While the non-native birds and primates
who are accustomed to tropical climates are tucked away safely
inside their winter quarters, the Arctic Foxes and Wolves
are thoroughly enjoying what is, to them, a typical January
day. All in all, we are settling into our winter routine and
looking forward to warm spring days to come.
