March/April 2007
Spring is officially here in south Texas.
Thanks to some recent rains, the farmed animals in our pastures
are enjoying some green grass, and the plants and wildlife
are breathing a sigh of relief as they get a break from the
harsh drought we have been experiencing. While area lakes
are still several feet below normal levels, rivers and creeks
that have been dry for almost two years are now running with
water.
Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation supporters
know that spring means baby season, but it is also the time
for our annual fundraising gala, Win
A Wild Ride to Save Wildlife, at the San Antonio Museum
of Art. This event is a great time for all, and I hope that
you can join us this year. Maybe you could be the one to drive
away in a new Lexus! Read below for information on how to
purchase tickets.
As the spring season rolls into your area
of the country, I hope you enjoy the chatter of squirrel mothers
protecting their young, the return of migratory birds and
the chirps of their babies in the nest, and the colors of
the crocus, daffodils, and tulips as their blooms emerge from
winter hibernation.
Warmest regards,

Angela Grimes, Director of Operations
Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, Inc.
