Interns Make WRR Tick
Interns
Make WRR Tick
by Angela Grimes, Director of Operations
Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR)
recently welcomed 8 new interns and 2 international volunteers.
They will spend the next 3–6 months helping care for
all of the babies in our Rehabilitation
Clinic & Nursery and the domestic and farmed animals
in the sanctuary. Those who have committed to a 6-month program
will also have the opportunity to assist with the non-native
wildlife such as the primates, big cats, wolves, and bears.
WRR interns come from a variety of backgrounds,
experience, and education levels. They come to us to learn
hands-on wildlife rehabilitation techniques, animal husbandry,
and basic level medical procedures. The variety of species
with whom they work cannot be found anywhere else. The intern
program at WRR is vital to our ability to care for the thousands
of animals in our clinic and sanctuary. All that we are able
to do is due to their dedication and commitment to the program
and the animals.
