Mother's
Day Gifts That Make a Difference
by Leigh Bacharach, Director of Development
With Mother's Day just days away we reflect
on our own childhood and the love and guidance of our mother.
Here at Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR), not only
are we home to a few mothers and their babies, we help thousands
of babies who no longer have a mother to guide and care for
them. Our committed staff serves as a meager substitute for
what an animal's true mother can give, but through our trained
hands, the animals receive the medical attention, food, and
housing they need to be returned to the wild. Being a true
sanctuary, we do not allow any of the wildlife or domesticated
animals to reproduce, however, there are circumstances where
we are able to rescue mothers, babies, and even entire families.
Caring for orphans in the clinic takes considerable time,
commitment, and funding generously
donated by individuals like you.
Now is the chance for you to show your mother
that you care by sponsoring one of the mothers living at WRR
or a motherless baby being cared for until she is old enough
for release back into the wild. With the Mother's Day Sponsorship
your mother will receive a photo of the mother and baby. Sponsorship
packages include an 8x10 photo, the natural history and personal
story of the animal being sponsored, and a certificate of
sponsorship. You can choose from one of four packages:
All Mother's Day Sponsorships are $50. If
your mother has an affinity for another animal who lives or
is being rehabilitated at WRR, please click
