Win
a Wild Ride to Save Wildlife Recap
by Angela Grimes, Associate Executive Director
Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation hosted
its 18th annual Win a Wild Ride to Save Wildlife gala
on April 3, 2008, at the Witte Museum in San Antonio. Four
hundred friends of wildlife enjoyed a warm spring evening
full of fantastic food and beverages from 21 of the area's
best restaurants, caterers, and beverage distributors while
listening to the delightful jazz musings of the Mike Porter
Band. Thanks to Tom "Bone" Bounds, our auctioneer,
the exciting live auction earned more than twice what it had
in previous years. Thanks to our dedicated event committee,
the silent auction had a larger and more exciting selection
than ever before.
We would like to extend a big thank you to
the restaurants, caterers, and beverage distributors who donated
their food and drink. To our readers, if you live in or visit
the San Antonio area, please patronize these fine establishments.
You will enjoy good food and know that you are giving your
support to a generous business that cares for wildlife like
you do.
Win a Wild Ride to Save Wildlife was
a wonderful evening that raised over $130,000 for wildlife,
and one lucky person walked away with a 2008 Mercedes-Benz
C300 Sport! Tickets for the 2009 event will be on sale this
summer. Don't miss your chance to win next year!
