February 2009
On the coldest day we have had this winter,
our first tiny opossums and squirrels arrived in the rehabilitation
clinic. It won't be long before our rooms are filled with
cages upon cages of little ones who need round-the-clock attention.
Even with ice on the trees, the staff is in full swing preparing
for spring and the thousands of lives who will cross the threshold.
We are stocking up on baby formula and other
supplies, training new interns, recruiting volunteers, and
inventorying and testing all of the incubators and other critical
equipment needed at this exciting time of year. If you would
like to help fill our baby season coffers, please visit
our Wish List page.
While it is hard work with long days and hours,
this is what we are here to do each and every spring and summer,
and we look forward to putting out our helping hands for the
animals who need us. We thank all of our supporters —
old and new — without whose support we would not be
able to provide these valuable rehabilitation and release
services.
Best wishes from WRR as we move into what
will certainly be another busy spring!
