Share Your Love for Wildlife This Valentine's
Day
Sponsorship of one of WRR's couples makes
for a unique and thoughtful Valentine's gift. We are offering
three special animal couples, only available through Valentine's
Day. The recipient of the gift will receive an 8x10 photo
of the animal, a certificate acknowledging their sponsorship
along with a natural history of the species, and their sponsored
animals' personal stories.

The WRR
"Odd Couple": Violet the Pig and the Thai
Rooster
$50 Donation
This pair
gives new meaning to the phrase "love comes in
all shapes and sizes." Violet is a gentle pink
Pot-bellied Pig who came to WRR a few years ago after
being discarded by her family. When we recently took
in 14 Thai Roosters who were rescued from a cock-fighting
ring in Minnesota, one of them found his way to Violet's
pasture and hasn't left her side since.

Ruffed Lemurs
$75 Donation
True love
and friendship knows no gender. These two black and
white Ruffed Lemur boys had been living alone for some
time before they were brought together at the WRR sanctuary
this past summer. As the sun sets, you can hear them
call to each other with affection nearly every night.
During the day, they enjoy running and climbing together
in their enclosure and grooming each other.

African Lions
$100 Donation
These two
majestic African Lions met just a few months ago but
they quickly bonded and are now inseparable. The male
came to WRR in 2004 from a zoo in Michigan along with
his long-time mate who passed away in 2007. We spent
nearly a year trying to find a female in need of a home
who could be his companion and when we were asked to
take this girl from a former "pet" situation
in August we knew we had found a match for the lonely
male. They are truly in love with each other and enjoy
taking naps side by side in the sunshine.
