Valuable Way You Can Help the WRR Veterinary Staff

One critical piece of diagnostic veterinary
equipment is the i-STAT Handheld Clinical Analyzer. The i-STAT
allows our medical staff to test a small amount of blood and
determine a wide range of values, giving important information
about glucose, creatinine, hematocrit, and liver and kidney
functions that allows our veterinarian to determine the best
course of medical treatment to help the ailing and elderly
animals in our clinic and sanctuary.
This handy device requires only three or four
drops of blood; testing begins automatically and results are
displayed in only a few minutes. It is also portable, which
allows the veterinary team to take it into the field and diagnose
patients outdoors, rather than in the stressful confines of
the surgery room.
