Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries

Every day, the world over, wild and domestic animals are abandoned, displaced, or injured by humans and natural causes. The sole purpose of The Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) is to ensure that these animals receive the highest standards of care during rescue, rehabilitation, and the rest of their life.

GFAS is the only globally recognized organization for certifying that a facility meets the GFAS Standards of Excellence and recognizes those as a true “sanctuary.” As such, facilities around the world, large and small, come to GFAS for guidance and support in achieving and maintaining GFAS-accredited status.

EarthShare Texas

EarthShare of Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit raising and distributing funds to qualifying member charities. From air quality to wildlife rehabilitation to the development of green building technology, ESTX members work to protect the environment.

Better Business Bureau

Accredited national charities are found to meet all 20 Better Business Bureau (BBB) Charity Standards and have the option of indicating that they meet BBB Charity Standards through the display of the national charity seal.

Charity Navigator

With nearly 200,000 charities rated, Charity Navigator’s comprehensive ratings shine a light on the cost-effectiveness and overall health of a charity’s programs, including measures of stability, efficiency, and sustainability. The metrics inform donors of not just where their dollars are going but what their dollars are doing.
A four-star rating means a non-profit exceeds or meets best practices and industry standards across almost all areas. A four-star organization is likely to be a highly-effective charity.
Candid

For a combined 88 years, Foundation Center and GuideStar (now Candid) each helped change the world by giving people the information they needed to do good.

Being awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid is a major testament to the transparency or Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation (WRR). The Platinum Seal of Transparency is a rating that puts us in the top 0.1% of charities nationally in terms of transparency and means that WRR has shared clear and important information with the public about our goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements and progress indicators.

Combined Federal Campaign

The mission of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with almost 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal, and military donors during the campaign season will support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.

State Employee Charitable Campaign

Created by the Texas legislation in 1993, Texas’ State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) is one of the largest state employee campaigns in the nation. Through the efforts and generosity of state employees since, Texas agency and higher education employees (both active and retired) have contributed $195 million through the SECC — providing aid to their family, friends, neighbors, and countless others in need across the Lone Star state.

The SECC is governed at both the statewide and local levels. This ensures that the campaign is conducted fairly and equitably under a strict set of guidelines which give donors confidence in both the charities that benefit and the methods used to solicit.

SECC charity code: 035580
