It was over 45 years ago that I founded Wildlife Rescue in my San Antonio backyard. Now I am very happy to see that the initial plan has survived and come into full flower in the form of our 212-acre sanctuary. It is so gratifying to see how we have grown in the number of animals whose lives are saved every year and in other accomplishments.
More than 200,000 animals have found their way to WRR during these years and there are no signs that this is going to slow down. And because we have a staff that does exemplary work, for which they and Wildlife Rescue have come to be known and respected nationwide, and thousands of faithful supporters, we are confident that we will continue to be the primary resource for wild animals in Texas and beyond.
For those who have the ability and desire to make substantial commitments to our future, we began the Founder’s Circle. Members of the Circle have pledged a minimum of $3,000 in annual contributions and/or have included Wildlife Rescue in their estate planning, usually through their wills. Obviously, this level of commitment goes beyond what most people are ready for, but it is critical to Wildlife Rescue’s ongoing success and stability and to our future.
I invite any of you who can to become a member of the Founder’s Circle. In addition to the knowledge that you are among those who WRR and I most count on, you will be invited to an annual meeting of Circle members at either the WRR Sherman Animal Care Complex or the sanctuary in Kendalia—a time for personal contact and thank you’s, for updates on Wildlife Rescue happenings, and for you to see more closely than usual the places and people who translate your gifts into meaningful help for animals.
Simply drop me an email or a note (the old-fashioned way through the USPS), or give me a call, and let me know that you will be joining. Thank you.
